Did you know, one unspayed female Dog and her mate, their offspring and their mates, and the mates of those additional litters...can create over 60,00 Dogs in theiR lifetime!!!
Spay and neuter programs are critical to reduce the unwanted pet population. In order to reduce intakes into our shelters and animals dumped, we need to create ways for responsible pet owners to fix their animals. On average, without voucher programs or low-cost clinics, a spay or neuter surgery can run well over $150...
and that's if your animal is under 20 lbs!
Our goal is to create a fund that allows us to provide spay and neuter assistance. We will achieve this goal through partnerships with local veterinarians, application for grants, and tax-deductible donations.
We will begin offering this service within Merced County and as funding grows, so will the program. This will include:
1) Covering or reducing the cost of spay and neuter surgeries. Average cost to our organization will be anywhere between $60 and $200 per animal.
2) Transportation assistance to out-of-area low-cost clinics, which will be provided free of charge to owners who can cover the costs associated with spay or neuter for their animal.
And cats are worse!!! An unspayed female cat and her mate, their offspring and their mates, and the mates of those additional litters...can create over 11 million cats!!!
